[8 min read] Congenital naevi | Prof David Wilkinson

This month we look at the important topic of congenital naevi. These lesions vary from the small, minor and relatively inconsequential to the large, gruesome and life-threatening.

A review paper in the Australasian Journal of Dermatology summarises the current state of understanding around melanoma risk (low in small, and high in large congenital naevi) through to issues and options around management and treatment options (usually with specialist input).

This important and useful review is well worth a read for all skin cancer doctors and GPs with an interest in skin health.
