[Podcast] 30 years of Dermoscopy with world leading experts – Episode 1

Welcome to our series of podcasts celebrating the 30-year history of dermoscopy! This series features a number of leaders in the field, each of whom provide a short summary of how they have used dermoscopy in their practice, the impact it has had, and their thoughts about the future of this technology.

Prof Ashfaq Marghoob during his Fellowship 30 years ago, along with Tom Salopek (standing left) and Prof Alfred Kopf (sitting).

In this short podcast, Professor Ashfaq Marghoob – a dermatologist from the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York and a presenter of the HealthCert Certificate Courses in Dermoscopy – provides a fascinating insight into his own experiences and journey with dermoscopy. Starting at the beginning of the true history of dermoscopy itself, Professor Marghoob speaks movingly about the impact the very first dermatoscopes had on him.

Then, Dr Aimilios Lallas from Aristotle University in Greece speaks about his own experiences with dermoscopy – beginning with his residency training in dermatology – and how this has changed over time as the technology itself has developed. Enjoy!
