Case discussion: How would you treat this patient? [12 December]

In this week’s case discussion, submitted by Dr Terry Harvey, we look at a patient who presented for a follow-up skin cancer check and total body photography after having been treated for a previous melanoma.

The total body photography AI identified the lesion circled in red as new from her previous images.  The dermoscopy of that lesion is also included below.

What would you do next?

Update:

The lesion was excised and the pathology returned as nodular basal cell carcinoma with clear margins.

  1. Possible BCC serpentine blood vessels noted, some minor ulceration. Punch biopsy and review.
The lesion at 12o’clock looks like it needs review too!
